From where did you acquire the files and the licenses?
DRM files are intact at the time of the first error;
- Do you receive any kind of error message? If so, what is the exact text of the error message?
All messages are provided below. There are two cases. Trying to play existing music: the "c00d0bbe" error code. Trying to download purchased music: DLS_ERR_PRE_LICENSE: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Retries fail.
I suspect the "c00d0bbe" error code is an undocumented Microsoft one.
WHy do you say that. Articles on this error code are found trivially through a web search.
e.g.Guide To Error C00D0BBE In Windows Media Player
Error C00D0BBE means that you need a license for that file to do whatever operation you are currently trying to do, and you don't have a valid license to do that specific operation. Files downloaded from pay services can restrict you from transferring or copying the file to portable devices or other PC, etc.
- Are you trying to play the track on the same PC to which it was downloaded?
Yes.
- Are you logged into your Musicmatch Downloads account when you attempt to play the track?
Yes.
- Have you ever successfully played the track? If so, have you made any changes to your system since successfully playing the track last?
Yes for all previously purchased tracks.
- Have you performed a system restore or OS upgrade since purchasing the track?
No.
- Please attempt to play the track in Windows Media Player (WMP). Are you able to play the track successfully with WMP?
No. Error message: "Windows Media Player has encountered an unknown error." Running version 9 of Media Player.
