Ok, so you're burning the MP3s as Audio CD.
Sounds to me like a problem with the MP3 codec, have you installed some
other multimedia related software like media players, cd burning software or
codec packs?
The first thing I'd suggest is to try reinstalling/updating WMP, that might
be the simplest way to fix the problem.
