Distribute a Video Capture Tool with a Microsoft Codec...

Hi,

I'm actually planning a new Video capture application for my customers.
The application will be used to create a personnal presentation video.
I must distribute this app to more than 5000 customers...

Once the video is created locally, my application will push the movie
created to an FTP or HTTP server.

For compatibility and support, I would like to make sure all videos are
encoded with the same stardardized codec. I'm actually looking for
Microsoft Codecs but I'm not sure what I need and how I can distribute
the encoder codecs.

Do my customer need to install the Microsoft Windows Media Encoder?
Can I distribute it myself an run a silent install during my
application setup?

***Is there an easier way to distribute a video capture application and
make sure the codec used for the compression is the same for everyone?
