Are you sure that's the exact error code? That value has no
meaning and WMP9 does not use MCI.
I see you have at least 2 other MPEG1/2 decoders installed
(Ligos and InterVideo/WinDVD): you can unistall them and see
whether that solves your problem. You can also execute
regsvr32 quartz.dll
to restore the default MPEG1 decoder registration (since you
can open the file in VD, it must be MPEG1, unless you meand
VirtualDubMod).

VD uses its own internal MPEG1 a/v splitter and decoders.
