I have a problem that is very similar to yours. Everything looks to be set up
correctly but my player won't play .AVI files. Movie maker will not play or
save avi files either. It will play other files types fine.

Besides reinstalling codes, divx, or players (which doesn't help), is there
anything else we can do to fix this?
