Copying from CD to Media Library

Hi,

I'm a basic user of WM9 and have encountered the following problem:

When I click to copy a track from a CD to the Library, the track starts
playing as well as copying. I didn't think much of it till I realised that
once it was in the Library and playing, the track was very distorted, as if
too much gain or volume too high.

After comparing settings with another computer and following the same
procedure I noticed one difference: one computer plays the track WHILE
copying it (creating a distorted track), and the other computer doesn't.

How can I stop this from happening?

Any help would be apreciated!
