I hate font smoothing, it makes my eyes strain to try to keep
focusing, so I have always keep it turned off.
However, Windows Media Player 10 seems to have it turned on (on a
skin-by-skin basis, I guess?) and it doesn't seem to respect the
Windows OS level Display preferences to keep it turned off.
For instance, with font smoothing turned off in the Control Panel -
Display setup for Windows, look at the "Classic" skin. The menu items
are OK like they should be, but the text in the black area is
smoothed. Yuck!
Am I missing something here? Is there some way to turn this off? Or
run WMP 10 in a true non-skin mode (Not just the "Classic" skin which
is made to look like it's not really a skin....)
Thanks,
John
