Jobe,
You should find "Windows Media Player...9" in add/remove
programs in control panel. I would uninstall it, reboot,
and reinstall it. You probably upgraded before. Either
way, remove and start a fresh downloaded copy.
I would not go back to v7.1, keep trying with 9 Series.
And move away from ME as soon as possible. You want to
backup your data, find a cheap W2k update on ebay, if
price issue. Reformat drives using NTFS and install W2K.
That will simplify your life in many postive ways.
