Hi, maybe barking up a wrong tree here.
I have a D-link adsl 504 modem/router which is instructed
to pass port 8080 request to my web server, dns2go.com do
my dns lookup and also re-directs my incoming port 80
requests to my external ip address on port 8080, got me
so far..........
Plug directly into the router is my web server (sniffing
port 8080) and my media service.

The media service to set to use everything but HTTP.

Ive used 2000 media services for ages, so I am used to
publishing points.

Ive made a test web page and intergrated video player.
When you go to my www address, sure enough, up pops the
web pages, ok so far, media player says connecting to
media and then locating media, but then after a short
while, it just says ready.

My router has no packet filtering enabled (yet) but I
cannot get it to work. Ive even tried re-directing
incoming ports directly to my meda servers ip address,
but nothing.

A link from my router connects to my proxy server and all
my machines get to the internet through that, apart from
the media/web server.

Anyone got any ideas.

Regards

Paul
