Managed WMS plugins

Hi folks,
Just out of curiosity (and of possible future necessity): Is it possible and
encouraged to use managed code for every type of WMS plug-in?
I've only been going through the WMS9SDK briefly, but only found managed
code (C# or vb) in just a few examples (CacheProxy and Logging).
I haven't done the proper research yet but I thought this place would be a
good start (for lazy people like me :) )
I have to make an authenticity plug-in that compares the to-be-streamed .wmv
file with a hash. The result of this comparison results in blocking or
allowing playback
The hashing and comparison works. I just need to move this over to a WMS
plugin.
What type of plug-in would you advice? I was thinking of an authorization
plugin.
Any response is welcome.
Best regards,
Rob.
