Not working how ? What error message do you see ?
What are the settings in WMP menu Tools -> Options -> Network ?

You're right, its a commonly noted modification to the player. In fact
mms has been depracated since WMP9, which automatically rolled over
anything mms to either rtsp or http streaming. You're now noticing the
long tail of content providers who never updated their streaming
servers.
