sharing on network source (CIFS)

hello all,
we have five streaming servers, which serve their content
from a EMC-Celerra with CIFS network share, like a windows
fileserver.
we have several users reporting problems like jerking and
rebuffering. we wanted to configure non-shared file-access, as
described in this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/812633/EN-US/
the behavior of the streaming servers did not change. they
do not cache the files but read them only a little ahead of
streaming it to the user.
can anybody assist? are there any other tuning capabilities
in this szenario?
greetings,
mawarn.
.
