Then I can't see where you asserted that you confirmed with the
customer that their profile is using the alternate port number you've
specified to them as part of their setup. People not doing streaming
regularly *do* omit these settings,

I confirmed this with the fact that they are connecting and streaming
content to the server. They are connected for about 10 mins then get
disconected.

OK, thanks - I didn't notice they'd been able to connect already !

You may have to get them to send you a copy of their wme profile to be
sure they're not just ignoring your settings and donig what they feel
like.

I will get them to send me a copy of this to confirm their settings.
Can you tell me where this file is located?

Sure : In the Encoder they would just File -> Save As, which creates a
..wme file containing all the settings in use by the encoder.

It might be possible to post the file here (it's a copy and paste job
from notepad) if there are no particularly sensitive data in it.

I cant think of anything else to check right now - though you might do
in a command line window

pathping -T -R ip_address_of_customer_encoder_box

That ought to tell you something about the quality and connectivity
between you and then. Perhaps there's some router in the path which is
dropping enough packets to make the connection unreliable (though I
can't think why it would result in the server control protocol error)
