We are trying to multicast live video via Windows Media Sevices running on
Windows Server 2003 Enterprize. I am using Windows Media encoder in a PUSH
mode to the piblishing point. I have multicast enabled on the publishing
point and have run the annoucement wizard to create the necessary NSC file
and ASX file for the clients.
I am testing this by disabling TCP, UDP, HTTP on the client running Windows
Media Player Version 10 and only allowing Multicast. Running the player in
this mode, an error message displays as follows: Windows Media player cannot
play the file because the server is not available.
The network consists of one Cisco 3550, where the streaming server and the
player are connected - all layer two.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
