can't publish outside of isa firewall even though have server publish rule

I can't project a single file publishing point on mms outside of firewall on
my test network. I have a Microsoft media server on windows 2003 with sp1
applied. The gateway/firewall is using ISA 2k and I have a server
publishing rule that uses the protocol definition "Microsoft media server"
which routes port 1755 to my web/media server. However my publishing points
don't work outside the firewall. I am not sure if this is an isa problem or
if mms is just looking for local server name in the url in order to work.
When I check the log for the publishing point I do not see any evidence of
activity. When I access the publishing point url from inside the network
the publishing point's log registers the access.
The error on the windows media client is the following;
"Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Be sure the path is
typed correctly. If it is, the file does not exist at the specified
location, or the computer where the file is stored is offline.---under more
information is the error 0XC00D1197.
I have read previous posts in this group and there are replies like "I think
port 554" this and that. But that is not a documented port for mms,
furthermore isa 2k has a protocol rule for port 1755 this. I am sort of
thinking it is a naming problem in url where mms looks for the local server
name. but am not sure..
Any ideas.
Thanks,
John Dolinka
