Just getting started, How do you get the SDK?

All,
I am trying to get started with Windows Media Format and am finding it next
to impossible to find the SDK.
I have found this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa387410.aspx
Which indicates that there is a download:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=18502 but that link is broken.
The samples page: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb262873(VS.85).aspx
Says:
"To use the samples, you must install the Windows SDK, which includes the
Windows Media Player SDK. You can download the Windows SDK from the Download
and Code Center. Click SDK Downloads, and search for "Microsoft Windows SDK.""
Doing that returns 108 results, none appear to be the right approach.
I am interested in reading and writing the WM file properties and producing
thumbnails and ANYTHING on the API for Windows Media Server.
Thanks in advance.
