Re: Live Streaming using Windows Media Encoder 9 DMO on Vista

I'm not an anti-microsoft zealot or anything, but Vista is pretty bad. Try running the task manager & look at the performance tab -- you might find, as I did, the encoder running at 80-90% of both processors/cores. Plus Vista crashed on me randomly, several times a day. Vista SP1 didn't fix the problem.

I installed XP on the same computer, dual booting so I could run the encoder in XP, and everything else I do in Vista. Bottom line, I think you have to run the encoder in XP if you want reliable results.

Hi,

I have created an application that is streaming live Audio/Video uinsg DirectShow. We have used Windows Media Audio and Video using the Respective DMOs. I am using Windows Media Vodeo codec 9 and WMA DMO's for encoding. In XP everything is working fine. But in Vista Business, Enterprise, we have have a lot of jerks coming in the Video.

Do i need to do something special in this case.

Thanks,
