How to improve the performance of playing?

Hello,
I create a asf file contained two audio stream (different language)
and one vidoe stream.
When i playing the file, i can switch between the two different
language.But i found a problem. When i switch the audio,the video is plaused
for 1-3 seconds,(the audio is converted at once). I want to know WHY ? And
how can i improve the performance ? Decrease the responding time of video
stream?
