I bit the sour apple and reinstalled Vista and ALL my problems have gone
away. I can now stream EVERYTHING! The original problem was with Audio
streaming (Video was fine). But, as I said, I am a VERY happy Vista user
right now, The re-install has made it Rock-solid. Problem solved. Thanks.

So you click the link and it closes without an error message?
Does this happen for streaming audio too?
If it's just for streaming video, that tenatively may indicate a conflict
between your video card driver and your networking. An updated version of
your video card driver might help.

I followed the advice on
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/940029
and registered wmnetmgr.dll and deleted Wmsdkns.xml file. No change in
behavior unfortunately. Except now also streamingg video from Windows
Media
Guide is not playing in WMP. WMP just closes without any error message.
Many
of web sites, like Webshots.com have problems opening in IE8, I don't know
if
that's related. Any other suggestions? Please?

I dont know what, if anything changed, as this machine is ~1 year old but
I
have not attempted listening to online radio with it before. As far as I
recall, at least.
Somewhere along the way clearly I upgraded to WMP 11 and IE8. As I said,
WMP11 was broken(for radio play) with IE7 already.
One thing I did once upon time was to Install IE8 and then roll back to
IE7.
I tried runnintg WMP as administrator, I tried disabling all my
firewalls. I
don' find anything useful in the link you sent me about the network
caching.
The top entry talks about WinNT and the Network tab missing, -that's not
my
problem.

If you reset the networking cache-

, does that get you working?
What changed before this broke?

I am running Vista Ultimate and WMP 11. My WMP "thinks" about it for a
while
then simply closes when requesting any Internet Radio station from
http://www.windowsmedia.com/Mediaguide/Radio, or trying to play radio
from
www.dr.dk (Danish Radio, -their player is based on Windows Media
Player).
Help! I would be happy to repair my installation of WMP 11, but that
seems
not possible; it's not listed under "Programs and Features" in
Control
Panel
and Microsoft does not provide any downloadable installer. Streaming
video
files play fine, btw.
