Garbled Sound When Ripping CD's with WMP

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

When I try to listen to ANY sort of audio while ripping a CD in WMP 11 the
sound goes all crackly and garbled, this just started happening all of a
sudden and I don't now why. One second I was listening to the CD I was
ripping and the next the sound was all messed up. If I'm not ripping a CD
then the sound is just fine. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no
avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to be able to
listen to music and other audio while I rip CD's.
