Wow, you're trying to hack the system for whatever reason and things ~don't work right~? My heart bleeds for you. ;-)
Thought: if some hack doesn't work, try the steps *without using the hack*. XD I'm not judging here, just kind of pointing out that you potentially introducing failure into the process means... you might potentially fail. That seems pretty elementary to me. =)
Cute *blinder hacks are obviously not supported. If it magically works for you, I don't know anything about it. If it doesn't work for you, I don't know anything about it. I'm not interested in your system nor your problem: you're obviously trying to take things into your own hands, so I don't see why you need to waste my time with the problems *you* created. =)
This is all said with respect and love. You've always been able to do horrible things to your computer: that doesn't mean that others need to find that interesting and it especially doesn't mean that others need to walk you through doing bad things. You're on your own, d00d. =)
Cheers,
-Zach

please help here is the threads from my attempt at a fix on p2p life.com
Zachd, please help me out.
Please help,
I tried installing wmp 11 yesterday but started getting an error. My
mublinder validation is fine but this seems to be a common problem. I
tried using snodger's blinder which work to get me past validation but
on wmp11 install it gets to 85% then says it could not be installed.
That's when I get the error number 8007F00D which tells me to rename
spupdsvc.exe, which I did but no go. I'm on service pack 3 already btw.
I can't get updates now either. Also I tried this fix you put out but it
didn't work for me. I found a number of threads on this but no good fix,
plz help.
In the Run box, use copy and paste to enter and run each of the
following commands.
net stop wuauserv
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wups2.dll
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
net start wuauserv
Then try Updates again.
here is a portion of my update log for you to look at.

I am assuming that the file spupdsvc.exe is recreated after you have
renamed it. In any case, I see no evidence from your log that this file
is causing a problem. In fact, the only unwelcome log entry appears at
the end, with the implication that account being used does not belong to
the Administrators group.
My suspicion is that you have some invalid registry entries that are
the source of the problem. Your first step should be to clear your
registry of invalid entries. A good registry cleaner should do the job.
If you do not have a suitable cleaner installed, try ccleaner. This free
utility is more than a registry cleaner, but it is easy to use. You can
select to run just the registry cleaner component. Then try again to
install the update. if that is successful, try WMP11 again.
