A little more information might help get some responses for this
strange problem. For one of the movies, what file extensions can you
find in the directory or subdirectory with a movie that is acting up.
For example, .wmv, .mov.,.rmvb etc if the file is still a video file.
If it is an audio file you might find .wma, .ra, etc. If it is a
playlist/redirector file you might get .wvx, .rpm, .wax etc. Right
click on the icon for the main movie file and any files that it
contains, and see what properties it gives. Also, after right
clicking, select to play on any other players you have - not just WMP
- and see what happens.

OK. The files in question are WMP mp4 audio files. When I change them to
QuickTime files they play (I didn't try that before). Files marked with a
video clip icon play with WMP which I expected. Some mp4 video files play
with QTime while other files appearing to be the same will not play with
QTime. It gives an error msg. Possibly these problems arose after
loading/extracting "Prizm Video Converter" or "Media Monkey"...I don't know.
