For me, WMP 11 on Vista Home Premium...

WMP
Tools
Options
'Player' tab
'Player settings' group
(checkbox) "Allow Screen Saver During Playback"

That option has no effect on playback, whether checked or not, when my screensaver kicks in (WMP11, XP Pro). I've always assumed that it controls whether or not the screensaver kicks in when you are watching a video, and don't touch the keyboard/mouse for a while. I've used that effect to stop my screen locking when I'm at lunch (I work from home, and my three dogs would eat any hacker bold enough to walk in while *I'm* eating in the kitchen).
