Dear Neil:
Here's a little bit of follow up... It might shed some
light on why Tiger Lady might have had continuing
problems... When I log off as a Windows "Administrator",
to my usual lower level "Power User" account, the audio
no longer works even though the AC3 filter indeed
appears in the Power User's Codec list. This, I think, IS a
"Nero Problem". Nero is quite a pain in the neck this way...
It really doesn't work right unless you're logged in as
an Administrator. For safety, I log in 99% of the time
as a Power User... However, the audio didn't work
even on the Administrator account until downloading
the AC3 filter, so THANKS AGAIN for that! :-)
Meanwhile, when I transcode my Windows Moviemaker
videos using Nero (because Moviemaker won't do that),
I've got to log in as an Administrator. Same thing when
using Nero to back up to a DVD, which Windows Back-Up
won't do... As I have now discovered, with your esteemed
and appreciated assistance, I need to log in as an
Administrator to use WMP11 to play DVD videos...
FWIW, Nero WILL play the DVD video acceptably on the
Power User account using Nero Showtime, so this is my
most practical option. I just wanted to know why WMP11
wouldn't do it! :-) Now I know, it seems...
Thanks again for your wisdom...

everything is okay
This is a clean install of vista home premium and all drivers etc are
working ok. No problems on music play pack
Somehow you're missing an "AC3 audio filter" : Download one here
