Cd's playing at high speed :(

PLEASE HELP :(
I've just installed windows media player 11 and all my C.D.'s are playing at
high speed. It will not allow me to change the speed settings and have
checked all the FAQ's and there are no answers to my problem.
I hope someone out there can pass on some advice :)
