This is my same problem but...

I didn't format my drive. Just reinstalled windows over current. Files are
still there but won't play and MSN music won't "de-authorize" my computer so
that I can renew the licenses.

Any help is appreciated!

It is hard to say with so little information about how XP was re-installed on
your machine, or how many drives you have in your machine and where you
stored your data.

Typically speaking, if the disk was wiped clean (formatted) to re-install
XP, then any data on that particular drive is erased. If your music was
stored on another physical drive, it could be safe.

I suppose if your music is no longer where you last saw it, then the disk
was probably erased, and your music with it. :(

I had to reinstall Windows XP due to several problems. Is there any way to
recover music from Windows Media, Itunes, etc. or is it all gone forever?
THanks
