I, like so many of you out there, updated to WMP 11. I, like so many of you
out there, have had problems - C00D11B1, "Windows Media Player cannot play,
sync, or burn the protected file because a problem occurred with the Windows
Media Digital Rights Management (DRM) system. You might need to connect to
the Internet to update your DRM components. For additional assistance, click
Web Help."

I had updated to WMP 11, as I stated above. Encountered problems.
Uninstalled it. Reinstalled WMP 11. Installed WMP 11 AGAIN.

Encountered the problems mentioned above.

I searched the information Microsoft offers via the website. Oye. How many
of you have searched and searched and have NOT found your answer???? How
many of you out there are trying to AVOID having to pay $$ for answers to
problems you didn't ask for??????

Anyway, I couldn't even rip cd's. I would get the lengthy error message in
the first paragraph.

Here's what I did.

I opened up WMP 11. I clicked TOOLS, then OPTIONS. Then I clicked RIP MUSIC.
(My format is "Windows Media Audio".

I unchecked "Copy protect music", clicked APPLY and then clicked OK.

I'm not computer savvy, guys, but, I can rip music to my computer for my
listening pleasure again. I'm listening to it right now.

You know what else I did? I removed "Quicktime Player" from my computer.
Don't know if that helped anything.

Our files on our WMP 11 are files that were ripped from cd's. I still
cannot play previously ripped audio files. At least I didn't have a lot of
$$ invested in purchased and downloaded songs. I can delete my files and
re-rip.

What about everybody out there who paid for their songs? What are they
supposed to do???? Why doesn't Microsoft come up with a fix for this?

At least I can re-rip my cd's and listen to them on my computer using WMP 11.

HASN'T THIS BEEN A REAL DRAG?????
