That seems like you have not read the Rules of Conduct for this newsgroup,
where the important notion that this is *not* an official Microsoft support
channel is covered. =)

If you do want actual support, you should take it to actual product support.

Hi Zachd
Quoting rules and [even] goose-stepping up & down and turning red does not
detract from the fact that Microsoft's flagship O/S VISTA is obviously a step
too far for them to successfully cope with. Thanks for your post though, its
nice to have yet another person able to make the ever growing list of rules
in this world clear, for all the people who have paid for a product that
doesn't work properly, and find that real help is somewhat difficult to come
by, I am sure the sight of your post will be inspiring.

WMP 11.0.6000.6344
Windows Vista Home Premium (without SP1)
Recently WMP 11 has stopped playing my music files. My computer tells me
that it is fully up to date (though I still have yet to download SP1). I
can
still listen to music using VLC. Can anyone help me out? If you need more
info please let me know what you need.
Hi David
I'm sorry you are having trouble with this, you are having much the same
experience as myself and for all the help this newsgroup - or anyone at
Microsoft will be - you might as well nip to your local butcher and seek
help. This problem has been going on for various users, for far too long,
judging by the dates in this newsgroup alone.
My solution was to load up 'Nero Showtime' (which I already owned) and
forget about Windows Media-player, it (Showtime) seems to be able to play
all
types of music and video files without a problem.
