Does your system have Vista Service Pack 1 applied?
There's a very useful fix in there to allow playback of audio from
semi-malformed AVI files.

Hi I have downloaded videos from a g-shot DV5131 camera. When I play them
in
media centre there is video but no audio. The camera paper works says the
files are motionjpeg but when i click on properties it says they are .AVI
files. I have tried downloading various codecs but to know avail. I can
get
them to play with sound in quicktime. I want them to play in windows media
as
i want to use them in windows movie maker and dvd maker. Any ideas.
I am using media player 11.0 and I am using Vista
