When I play back CDs the singing is out of pitch and slightly distorted. How
do I resolve this issue?

In media player, go to Tools -> Options -> Devices menu, and select
the CD drive (may be 1 or 2 drives in your PC). Make sure "Digital" is
selected for both playback and recording.

It's also worth checking if you have speakers or a sound card which
offers some sort of Karaoke mode, or is switched into surround sound
mode, both of which could distort and pitch shift in the wrong
circumstances
