Zach - Fantastic thanks very much for your help.

Your helpful website http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#indiv

I followed the instructions under the question -
Q: I get the message "Windows Media Player cannot play the protected file
because a security upgrade is required. Do you want to download the security
upgrade?", but nothing happens.

Which led me to - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891664/en-us

Followed all instructions except 1 and 5 and now it works perfectly.

I am really grateful for your and Neil's kind assistance and hope this post
may help others with the same problem with music from Walmart.

Thanks again

The button is greyed out on this URL?

So I can't try it?

Any other ideas?

I can't see any DRM "Individualisation" shown in the report lines
below. Individualisation is a step which ties any DRM security to your
particular PC and hardware, so that dowloaded tracks can be identified
as belonging to you as the track purchaser.

If you closed all browsers and media player, then start a single
internet explorer browser window, and go to this page
http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp

Is the button there available to click, or greyed out ?

If you click it, try running the track again to see if it'll play,
then try downloading another to see if that works.

If it doesn't, post back the "Indiv version" stuff as you posted
before, as Zach might have some ideas about what's up

Thanks Neil for the useful link to sample files - ok so this gets
stranger.
I can play both the .wma and the .wmv samples no problem at all.

But I still get the same error when trying to play the .wma file
downloaded
from Walmart?

Any ideas?

This page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316992 has a range of
file
samples for testing - scroll down to the WMV part and download the
video file (or just click the link), then try to play that back in
media player.

Hi
I don't have any .wmv files to try. (is there a site I can

for
free to try?)

I have just one .wma file I am trying - downloaded from Walmart -
didn't
download any more when I found out I couldn't listen to this one!
