I'm burning music cd's with the new windows media player 11 which apparently
was created on my computer on June 13th. They play fine on my entertainment
system because I can select how I want it to play via a start up menu that
appears on my TV screen. However, I have no access to such a screen on my
car cd player nor any portable units and therefore the discs will not play.
How do I eleiminate this annoying start up menu when I burn cd's. I just
want them to start playing when loaded. This has never been an issue in the
past and I suspect when I received the unwanted upgrade to my windows media
player that this new program is set up like this. Should I just do a restore
back to June 12th on my computer?
No. It sounds like you've set media player to burn a Data CD. Many DVD
players and some other home systems can play data CDs, by showing the
list of folders containing various MP3 tracks.
However it's still uncommon for car CD players to have this facility -
you'd need to go to WMP and burn the disk as an Audio CD instead,
which means you'll be expecting to fit about 10-15 tracks on the CD
instead of (presumably) many dozens of MP3s
The setting for Audio CD is in a dropdown under the Burn tab in WMP.
