Re: How about sort/play by Year???

Thanks but I realise you can filter/play any music (Dolly Parton, The Shamen :o)) by a particular year (1980) - but filtering is not what i'm asking - i want to sort/play Genesis albums (or Sting collection) in order of year/release date (i'll never want to play them in order of bitrate - strangely enough)

From the responses it appears that the very latest windows media player can
only play an artists music in "alphabetical" order <snicker> or in order of "length" maybe <guffaw> but not in order of release date <ha ha ha ha>

I think it's fair to say M.S. need to take another look at this

P.S. I'm actually going to try playing my Genesis collection in alphabetical order (being as thats all i'm allowed) - should be interesting - i think - although it will play "Abacab" 4 times (off 4 different albums) - before it plays "Afterglow" (again 4 times)

You've missed the un-obvious. If your album shows 1909 (as mine does currently) then click on the "1909" and you get a list of all songs composed in 1909. I'm sure it will work for 21st century dates as well. :-)

This is a general principle throughout WMP11 - if you click on things like year, genre, mood, etc. then you get the corresponding list.
