Hi
I don't have any .wmv files to try. (is there a site I can download one for
free to try?)
I have just one .wma file I am trying - downloaded from Walmart - didn't
download any more when I found out I couldn't listen to this one!
But - I am sure there is nothing wrong with the actual downloaded file as I
have the same file on a laptop (which I downloaded onto this PC and then
emailed and picked it up on the laptop so it is exactly the same file and not
a different download or anything) and it plays on there with no problem at
all.

I am not sure what a WMA codec is? BUt I have tried uninstalling WMP and
reinstalling to see if that helped, but I'm afraid it didn't.
Any help you can give me is really appreciated.

That's "Error: Invalid Argument", which loosely implies that your WMA
codec
isn't installed properly...
