ok i give up. i asked for help finding out what version of media player i
have first off and then why it says im firewalled. i did get some help from
the site i downloaded the music site from and they told me to download a
codec pack. they were more helpful than you people. i guess i will not send
any more comments here unless its to do with something else. i wished you
could have been more helpful for me. I am lost.....

Windows Media Player 11 for XP or Vista comes with its own codec. It should
play your wmv format. Did you check your settings first: Go to Tools, then
Options, then File Types and ensure that all of the little boxes are ticked
off for each of the formats that you require to watch within Windows Media
Player.

Usually, its Media Center that usually causes problems like this. WMP 11
has always been quite good for different formats.

Also, check to make sure that your video is properly labelled with the
extension ".wmv". I know I've had problems with different file formats
because of this.
