Nah, I use a client on my PC that allows me to see responses to my posts. I
don't use the web front-end, so bumping it for that view doesn't do anything
interesting for me. Probably makes it easier for you to find, perhaps? =)

Tried that, sorry. Didn't make any difference to my setup at
all.
In
addition, each time I opened that dialog box, the Custom
option
was
not
the
one selected. So I don't know if something is more
fundementally
broke,
or
that is intended Vista behaviour for that function.

The other option I tried was actually editing the file
associations
for
the
likes of .mpg .mpeg. avi .wmv which did already state that WPM
was
the
associated application, but I re-saved the association just in
case
the
view
I was given was incorrect. But that too hasn't worked.

The other odd thing about my setup (and I'm not in front of my
Vista
laptop
as I type) is that the default programs section of one the
related
screens
(can't remember which one exactly until I get home) is always
blank.
I'll
post back later with a more accurate description of the screen
I'm
talking
about.

I've tried setting WMP11 as default player for these
files
types,
but
it
still won't open WMP11 and play the file. If I use the
IE
right
click
oprion
and 'save target as' and save it to my local machine,
double
clicking
the
saved file opens WMP11 just fine. It's only links in
web
pages
that
don't
work.

Any ideas folks?
