An update for you Neil, I have re-downloaded the file and it plays ok on my laptop after contacting a website for the rights, but when I copy this file back onto the pc it still refuses to play stating that my usage media rights are corrupted!
Hope this makes sense to you
BTW the file was downloaded onto the pc and then transferred onto the laptop before attempting to play it on the pc.
Thanks again
Roy

Thanks again Neil, I am able to access both sites but the button is "greyed out", any idea where I go from here? Can I download and re-install WMP from Microsoft? or is that not the solution.
Thanks once again for your time and knowledge
Roy

It should have been http://support.microsoft.com/kb/920928
The DRM page to re-individualise your PC should be this :
http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp
If the button's greyed out, first close *all* browser windows, then
open a single browser window in IE6 or IE7 and visit that page.
If it remains greyed out after deleting the DRM folder then something
bad is wrong, possibly with your browser or WMP settings / install.

site also does not work!!!!!!!
I have located the drm folder and re-named it but without being able to
visit the drm link I am no further ahead, but you were right, it was a
hidden folder!

Hi
I am running vista home premium and Mediaplayer 11
Having downloaded a music file (.wma) from Tesco.com downloads Mediaplayer
refuses to play it. Tesco website help section refers me to a Microsoft
article that tells me to re-name the DRM folder to DRMold before visiting
their site at http//drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp.
The problem is that there is no "drm" folder on my system for me to
re-name!
That's possibly a hidden or non-indexed folder.
In Vista it should be under the location
C:\Programdata\Microsoft\DRM
For more details, see this article in case the folder is somewhere
else : http://support.microsoft.com/hb/920928 which also indicates how
to show hidden files and folders.
