OK so once it's opened, do File -> Open and load the problematic file.
Then try pressing the [1] button under video, and see what happens -
then [2] as well (which renders the video the same way WMP would -
using DirectShow)
You can repeat those steps using the Audio section too.
If the [3] button becomes available then it should be able to preview
the video in GSpot's test viewer.
Try writing down the list of settings GSpot says is required for
playback of the video - next to the 4CC box for Audio also for Video
Those values are what's important here, and can help us to suggest a
video or audio codec you're missing for playback
