hi there,

I recently reinstalled Windows Vista Ultimate but have got a major issue,
when i play a video file with a .avi extention i get the message on screen.

Cannot Play Video

Windows Media Center cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you
might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy
settings might not be correct"

All the .avi files are on a second partition like they were before the
reinstalltion and i'm doing now what i did then to add them to the library
and to play them but this problem has me stumped.

You're probably just missing a codec for the contents of the AVI file.
It's easy to overlook stuff like that when reinstalling.

What does GSpot say is required for playback ?
