If you go to the small dropdown menu arrow under Rip, choose More
Options -> Devices and click the CD then choose Properties :
Is it set for rip in Analog mode ? It should be Digital (and the same
for playback). You've probably got your CD connected additionally
inside the PC case using an analog cable to the sound card.
In that case, the CD can only be ripped in real time. Selecting
Digital only will allow the PC to move the data directly off the CD
rather than converting to audio over analog then back to digital
again.

Re: CDs not playing right ... I am having the same problem with CD's not playing right. ... If I try to rip or play CD's right now, ... I can play CD's with the ITunes player with no problem. ... I am using WMP 11 with XP Home SP2 and also using a sound blaster sound card... (microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player)
