I have a Vista operating system and WMP version 11.0.6000.6344. When I
insert certain music CD's that I have purchased they will not play. I do not
get an error message. The CD's are simply not recognised. It is as though
there is no CD in at all. Other purchased music CD's work perfectly. The
music CD's that play work every time. The music CD's that don't play never
work. I have no idea how to rectify the problem and would appreciate any
assistance.
Some CDs come with 'content protection' to actively prevent you
playing it on a PC. Sometimes, this can be prevented from auto-running
by holding down the CTRL key when you insert the disk.
If that doesn't help, return it to the manufacturer or distributor as
defective, and insist on a refun (not replacement). If they refuse or
are unwilling to comply, post the message widely on web forums about
their deliberate obstruction of your fair use rights.
