I'm so very sorry for not mentioning FF. It's a huge oversight on my part.

No worries <g>

One of the techniques I use to validate the site before publication is to
invoke a browser from within DW. In fact, before the final publish, I
sometimes will test with more than one browser, usually Firefox and IE.

Right, I've used that feature once or twice too. Now the thing with
that is it seems to create some sort of temporary file and load the
content based on that location. If you recall, I discussed using
absolute links in the URIs to the content.

It's quite possible that WMP is looking at the links and not correctly
referencing them back to the original location of the files.

A good test would be to browse the HTML files locally, as in open the
main page by dragging the file into an open web browser window.

The page location should then start simlar to
file://C:/website/webpage.html

If I'm right, the relative links should then work - though IE7 might
raise an "unsafe content" dialog initially (OK that dialog) because
you're browsing in the local security zone. WMP will load content in
that zone, unless you have some specific settings in the browser to
prevent local-zone access to scripts and activeX objects.

In Firefox you should make sure the default action for those links
does indeed go to WMP. In Tools -> Options -> Downloads is the best
place to look - go to View & Edit Actions then scroll to (eg) WMV file
type, click "Change Action" and ensure (1) it has a WMP icon and (2)
it's set to "use this plugin (WMP)" rather than to try to download the
file or save them.

As you suggested, I installed the WMP plugin to FF and ran the tests again.
Although I got past the error message (the link to the message is shown in my
original post) and WMP looked like it was loading the file, all I got was the
blank WMP screen and the "DONE" message in the lower left corner of the
window.
