You didn't roll back the Windows Media Format 11 Runtime.

WMP10 has a bug where if you DID install it on top of the Format 11 Runtime,
it would do bad things. The fact that you were blocked from doing this was
a good thing, even if it does annoy you temporarily. Rollback the runtime
and you should be good to go. =)
