Re: C00D11BB Streaming Error

No, that was just an aside about how XP vs Vista protocol issues actually
can be server-sourced.
The actual meat of the data I was curious about was what a sample site was
so we could look at what it was doing. I'll take a look a little while
later today.

Why the same links are playable in WMP not the WMP control in the IE? Do
you
still suspect a protocol issue? I have my second machine which is XP
professional and updated to latest possible for XP. This computer can
stream
and play same radio station in IE based WMP control. What is that so
different in vista that wouldn't allow the same.

Radio Stations:

http://streambox.tv (webcast)

So what are some URLs that fail for you? It's hard to speak to sites
that
we don't know anything about. If a site is using the older Windows Media
Server and doesn't have HTTP Streaming enabled, this would be expected to
fail for Vista users. It's very easy for them to fix that on their
Server,
though.

I have windows Vista Home premium system and the latest and greatest
WMP.
None of the streaming WMP media content (online radio station and
webcast)
that I tried so far is unplayable in the IE Media Player. But, most of
the
radio station or other webcast content THAT CAN BE playable THRU
regular
WMP
is playing well.
Please don't come up with a crap like radio station has streaming
protocol
issues (I am more than 100% positive that I am not seeing such issues.)

Following are stuff that I am noticing in the IE Media Player.

1.) All possible streaming protocol is enabled. (Option-> Network Tab)
2.) There is no listing for streaming proxy setting (But my regular WMP
has
this listing). I don't have an idea, why this is different.
3.) I do have real player, quick time players installed in the system.

What the heck is wrong?
