As regards getting only background sound, is there a karaoke setting on your
sound card accidentally turned on... ?
What DVD filters are listed under WMP's Help:About:Technical Support
Information menu tool?

hI, I am having the same problem sort of on VLC. I am able to play the
movie
but only get the background sound, no dialogues nothing just the
background
music. Now, if I try to play it on Media Player 11 it doesn't even play...
I
get this error :>>> Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might
need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in
Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color
quality
settings.
I am close to desperate now, tried everything I could think of and
nothing!!! Soo frustating!
Do you have any suggestions for VLC ?

I put the files files from DVDs onto the hard drive of my portable so I

using VLC Media Player, but Windows Media Player 11 will only play the
the
video but not the sound. Any suggestions?
