You're expecting me to be psychic, but unfortunately only you have the
luxury of access to your computer to debug this. I only can guess wildly,
which is boring, so I asked for some guidance.

It would be impossible for you to get this if you were just running WMP11.
There's missing data here that you're not supplying probably because you
didn't realize that data was even there. I was trying to help you provide
that information, but like you said: it seems like you want actual product
support. This isn't product support, it's just a random newsgroup. =)

judging from what i have read, this is a very common problem with WM11.
as
you can reread - again - we are running WM11 and all the latest patches
and
stuff.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell us how to shut that 'rights protection' crap

i legally purchased my DVD's, and Windows, and the laptop for that
matter -
so everything is on the up and up.
just tell us how to fix the problem.

WMP error code 1163 is a problem for me also.
One day the player worked, the next day, error:
'digital copyright protection error cood 1163'.
Now cannot play any DVD movies.
Researched Windows Media help forums,
but no definite solutions found thus far.
Is the problem in DVD's codec, my DVD/CD player,
WMP11, or what? Did I download some free rogue codec?
Will de-install WMP11 again and re.
