That sounds pretty wacky for sure !
Are you using the NVidia Purevideo DVD decoder, or some other MPEG2
decoder ? I kind of assume their decoders should interoperate with
their hardware, but it's always been the cases AFAIK the region code
is determined by the disk and the DVD drive firmware, not the graphics
card

just running Nvidia 8800 ultra....
