Since downloading the zune software, I cannot play any other video file such

If i try to play a avi or mpeg file, I get a explorer.exe and drwatson32.exe
error.
If I play a WMV file in WMP11, then i don't get the error
This also happens in VLC player 0.8.6b whenever I try to play AVI or MPEG
video files
It shouldn't affect VLC, which uses entirely different playback
mechanism. Perhaps it's time to update your graphics card drivers,
since the relationship seems to be video playback.
You can confirm that by trying to play some ripped CD audio tracks
from your hard drive which would isolate the problem from the ASF file
viewpoint : ASF files would be either WMV or WMA files. If it doesn't
crash with those or MP3 audio files then it sounds like a video
problem
Also, check the required codecs for the AVI files using GSpot to see
what it reports is the common codec : http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
