There is a program I use (Streambox) specifically designed to capture streaming video - even captures protected streams -but not this one
Not necessarily deliberately but it is a protected stream

I actually called the source (Hawthorne Race Course) and they told me the
replays were free to view and that they had no objection to my recording the
video. I also checked the properties for the video and it clearly states
there are no restrictions on the media. I wouldn't try to record it if I
thought it was wrong to do so. On the other hand, I really am not sure what I
am doing so maybe there is no way to record it if I am using Media Player.
I guess the end result is that I still do not know if WMP 11 will record a
streaming video even if the video has no restriction.
