WMP 11 Downloading a streaming video

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

I am an absolute novice. I read that when viewing a streaming video, WMP 11
automatically downloads and retains the video. I want to retain a video file
that I select; but can not seem to get that done. The video is from a Horse
racing track and is available for free viewing by anyone. The video is not
protected and they do not care if a visitor keeps a copy of the race. They
require Media Player to view the videos.
Can of you tell me how to download and retain the video? I would really
appreciate the help as I have already spent hours in a futile attempt to save
the video. I have only been able to create a link and saved that in my
Playlists, but that really does not help.
Thanks so much,
Somis
